![]() ![]() This is the first time Morningside University in Sioux City and Grand View University in Des Moines will vie against each other for the title. ![]() The winner of Saturday's matchup will be making their schools first ever trip to the semifinals of the NAIA Championship series.Two Iowa universities will face off at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Football championship in Durham, North Carolina on Saturday. Antoine currently ranks sixth in the NAIA in total tackles for a loss with 22.5, while Daniel is seventh in the NAIA in total interceptions with six. Senior defensive end Terach Antoine along with senior defensive back Anthony Daniel lead the Bluejays defensive attack. Tabor will also have to rely on its feisty defense that held a high-powered Ravens offense to just 229-yards of total offense in its opening round win. The senior from Troup, Texas rushed 25 times for 94-yards and one score in the Bluejays win over Benedictine last Saturday. Senior quarterback Tyler Davis is also coming off his best game as a Bluejay. He is also averaging better then 145-yards per game on the ground ranking him fourth in the NAIA. Monroe comes into the contest with 1749-yards on the ground this season. Grand View however will have to find a way to contain the NAIA's third leading rusher in senior running back James Monroe Jr. Gladfelder is currently third in the NAIA in sacks per game at 1.2, while Lewis is currently third in the NAIA in total interceptions with seven. Grand View's defense is led by senior linebacker Jason Gladfelder, and junior defensive back Lance Lewis. The Vikings currently bolster the NAIA's second best rushing defense allowing a mere 78-yards per game on the ground. The Bluejays rushing attack which ranks second in the NAIA at 329-yards per game will also be tested. Grand View currently is ranked in the top 10 nationally in seven defensive categories including second in the NAIA in total defense, allowing just 259-yards per game. The Bluejays, who shut down one of the top offenses in the NAIA in round one, will try and crack one of the nation's best defenses in the quarterfinals. from Williams Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa with the winner advancing to the semifinals of the NAIA championship series.
